Your chance to have a say in Perth’s future
26 October 2011
Perth’s community is being asked to contribute to discussions on the future of the Perth metropolitan area as part of the Metropolitan Local Government Review Panel’s examination of its local government structures and governance models.

Local Government Minister John Castrilli said in his media statement that the Panel’s Issues Paper would soon be published on the new Metropolitan Review website metroreview.dlg.wa.gov.au, giving the community an opportunity to provide input to the Panel.

The independent review panel was set up in June this year and is chaired by Professor Alan Robson, vice chancellor of the University of Western Australia. The other members are Dr Peter Tannock, former vice chancellor of the University of Notre Dame Australia and Dr Sue van Leeuwen, chief executive officer of Leadership WA.

It is expected the Panel will submit recommendations to the Minister by June 2012 which will result in the drawing of new local government boundaries.
