Metropolitan Local Government Review Panel Website Launched
20 October 2011
The Metropolitan Local Government Review Panel has launched its new website metroreview.dlg.wa.gov.au

The independent Panel, chaired by UWA Vice Chancellor Professor Alan Robson, is tasked with considering the most effective local government structures and governance models for Perth’s future.

Professor Robson said: “The website will publish the background and research papers generated for the Panel as well as submissions received and links to other relevant sites.”

Importantly the website will also make available the Panel’s Issues Paper which will provide the framework for the community to interact with the Panel and to share their views on the best design for Perth’s future governance. The Issues Paper will be released and available through the website in the near future.

“The website will provide a central point for up to date research and analysis on the range of issues affecting the Perth metropolitan area and will allow the community to view the research material that the Panel is considering in coming to its recommendations”, Professor Robson said. “The Panel hopes to generate a strong community interest in this important issue and the website will provide an easy way for the community to tell us what they think is needed for the better governance of Perth’s future”.
